Necessity of Dental Flossing

A lot of people consider brushing their teeth at least once a day, although at least twice a day is recommended. The food and drink we consume can eat away at the enamel of our teeth. Once that is gone, it’s gone.

Have you considered the importance of flossing as well? Flossing is vital to getting deep between teeth where perhaps not even a toothpick can get to the food particles. A lot of people I’ve seen using a toothpick consider that to be enough, but especially if your teeth are close together, a toothpick will not get it all. Not only will it not get it all, but toothpicks can poke and damage the skin around your teeth, your gums, and your tongue, too. Flossing is a safe method to getting between your teeth and getting out microorganisms that don’t belong.

Dental issues and cavities can extend beyond just what you knew was possible in your mouth. Dental issues can lead to cardiac issues (your heart), Diabetes, obesity, pneumonia and so much more. Take care of your teeth and take care of your overall well-being!
