Words for Today: “Imbroglio” and “Debility” and–Surprise!–“Incompetence”

Today, Friday, is the double + 1 Bonus day, and today I’m sticking you with these definitions spread round the page.  It’s a mess, so make of it what you will. It’s not my fault if you don’t like it. 

Imbroglio-

  1. A misunderstanding, disagreement, ect., of a complicated or bitter nature, as between persons or nations.
  2. an intricate and perplexing state of affairs; a complicated or difficult situation
  3. a confused heap 

Debility-

  1. a weakened or enfeebled state; weakness
  2. a particular mental or physical handicap 

Incompetence-

  1. the quality or condition of being incompetent; lack of ability
  2. Law. The condition of lacking power to act with legal effectiveness.
